Remembering to Turn Off the Electric

When relocating, you will have many small details to remember. One of them is to alert the electric company and other utilities that you are moving. This is so you will not be charged for using the utilities after leaving the apartment or home. You can schedule a date when you want them turned off a few weeks in advance if you choose.

Choosing which day to turn off the electric, water, cable, and other utilities can be difficult if you don’t have a moving date. Once you receive that date, then you can proceed with alerting the utility companies. Many have online forms to fill out that ask for your address, account number, and date you want them turned off. You can always call the companies as well. If you decide you don’t want to move, you should contact these companies and let them know about your plans.
